When bending or removing a light strip, it is essential to follow proper procedures to avoid damaging the device. This is the right and wrong way to do it:

The proper method to take out the light strip:

 1. Use the tube to pass through the spool and unroll the luminous tape horizontally.

 2. When installing, one person drags the spool while the other takes out the light strip for installation.

The improper method to take out the light strips:

1. Avoid placing the spool directly on the ground and pulling out the light strip without proper guidance.

2. Refrain from leaving one end of the pool light strip hanging in the air while performing the installation process.

LED Pool Lighting Install on the Corner

The proper method to bend the light strip:

1. Bend the light strip along the side without emitting light.

2. Make sure the bending angle of the light strip is equal to or greater than 60 degrees.

3. Install the strip at right 90-degree angles or curved corners, securing it with a mounting buckle located 4 inches (10 cm) on either side of the curve. Please keep a space of more than 1.65 inches between the light strip and the bend.

3. Do not tighten the strip tightly at the corner of the fold.

Difference Between T1512 V1.0 and T1512 V2.0 Pool Lights

For T1512 V1.0 Pool Edge Lighting

Our IP67 light strip and its system is a flexible solution designed to illuminate the edge of a pool and create a beautiful pool ambience. It is suitable for installation under the pool coping above the waterline and is not suitable for use underwater.

For T1512 V2.0 Underwater Pool Lights

IP68 waterproof, underwater up to a depth of 0.05m/1.97in to 1.5m/4.92ft.

Ideal for swimming pools edges, ponds, backyards, and outdoor landscapes with stunning illumination.


Only the V2.0 version is suitable for underwater use. For pool coping installations, we recommend the more cost-effective V1.0 pool edge lighting.

It works, but it's a little difficult

Should have followed the seller's advice and had them cut the length of the light strip for me. Although I'm relatively handy, I'm not too confident when it comes to waterproof ratings. At first I was worried that not having an accurate length would lead to errors once the pool light strip was installed. In fact since it is a flexible light strip, a slight 2~3 inches longer does not affect the installation at all.

You can cut it yourself, I recommend letting the seller do it

Purchased the IP67 pool light strip. As my pool is still under construction, I am not quite sure of the final dimensions, so I chose to cut and process it myself. As the seller said, I can cut and seal the light strip. But I'm not a professional worker so there is a possibility of mishandling. I suggest you to let the seller to cut it for you, after all, they can do this for free for the buyer.

I was planned to mount the pool light strip on the lower edge of the pool deck because I thought it would hide the strip better. Then I realized that whether I mounted it under the deck or on the pool wall, the light strip would face the same direction and that this light strip is triple illuminated with one side always glowing towards the water. Not to mention that it's easier to secure the mounting clasp on the pool wall than under the deck.
